Overview

XOrganize is a browser extension that helps you save and organize tweets from X (Twitter) and posts from LinkedIn. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

Data Collection

• We do not collect, transmit, or store any data on external servers
• We do not use analytics or tracking services
• We do not share your data with third parties
• We do not access your X/Twitter or LinkedIn account information
• We do not require any authentication or sign-up

Data Storage

All data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage API:

• Bookmarks: Saved tweets and LinkedIn posts are stored locally in your browser
• Folders: Your folder organization is stored locally
• Settings: Extension preferences are stored locally
• Backups: Periodic backups are created locally for data recovery

Your data remains on your device and is never transmitted to external servers.

Permissions Explained

XOrganize requires the following permissions:

storage

Required to save your bookmarks and folders locally in your browser. This permission allows the extension to use Chrome's local storage API to persist your data on your device.

activeTab

Required to add bookmark buttons (plus icons) to tweets and LinkedIn posts when you're viewing these pages. The extension only accesses the current tab when you interact with it.

sidePanel

Required to provide a side panel interface where users can view and manage their bookmarks. This is an optional feature that enhances the user experience.

tabs

Required to manage the side panel functionality and ensure it opens correctly when users interact with the extension.

Host Permissions

The extension requests access to:

• twitter.com and x.com - Required to add bookmark functionality to tweets
• linkedin.com and www.linkedin.com - Required to add bookmark functionality to LinkedIn posts

These permissions are required to inject content scripts on these domains to display the plus icon and enable bookmarking. No data is collected or transmitted to external servers - all functionality is local.

We do not access any data beyond what is necessary for these core functions.

Data Export & Deletion

You have full control over your data:

• Export: You can export all your bookmarks as a JSON file at any time through the extension settings
• Import: You can import previously exported data to restore your bookmarks
• Delete: You can delete individual bookmarks or folders at any time through the extension interface
• Uninstall: Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data from your browser

Data Security

Since all data is stored locally in your browser:

• Your data is protected by your browser's security mechanisms
• Data is not transmitted over the internet
• No external servers can access your data
• Your data is subject to the same security protections as other browser-stored data

Third-Party Services

XOrganize does not integrate with any third-party services or APIs. We do not use:

• Analytics services
• Advertising networks
• Cloud storage services
• Social media APIs (beyond reading public tweet/post content)
• User tracking or profiling services

Children's Privacy

XOrganize does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we do not collect any personal information, this extension is safe for users of all ages.
